FAQs
Do we need to book?
Yes, its safer to book the date you want to visit online to guarantee your visit, the parc fills up quickly and we have a limit on number of visitors per day,. If the parc is not full we will take walk in visitors.
Can I use the Café and Gift shop without paying to go into the parc ?
Yes, the café and gift shop are both open to parc visitors and to those who just want to come in for breakfast, lunch coffee or cake and /or a bit of retail therapy. We also sell Ronaldos soft scoop ice creams from the shop
Does the kitchen take bookings ?
The Chrysalis Café is not currently taking bookings, but there is currently room for 90 to sit outside and 60 inside.
Are dogs allowed in the Parc ?
Unfortunately we cannot allow dogs in the Parc or in the Café, unless they are a guide dog, but they are very welcome on the patio area outside the café where we have dog water bowls and treats available.
How long should we allow to look around the Parc ?
There are three visitor centres, a café and a giftshop. There are over 200 vivariums displaying different invertebrates. We like to class ourselves as a half day attraction and most visits are about 2 to 3 hours depending on how interested you are in the exhibits, lunch and ice cream !!
Does your kitchen cater for allergies ?
Our chef is happy to work with special requirements and will prepare something nice if given advance warning. You can e mail your requirements to andy@bugzuk.com
Can I hold any of the animals ?
Yes, you can pre book a 45 minute handling session for £1.50 per person when you book your tickets. These sessions fill up very quickly, especially at peak times as there are not enough handling places to allow everyone to hold the animals when the parc is full. There are 6 sessions timed throughout the day and they are booked on a first come first served basis. Once full there are no further options for handling the animals.
