As we've recently opened a butterfly house at our zoo, we're now breeding and offering caterpillars for sale ! With this particular caterpillar at it's current size, we can't identify it with 100% accuracy but believe it to be from the Papilio genus, and our best guess it's the species demodocus. As we learn more about our new butterflies and caterpillars, and as they grow older, we'll be able to confirm their ID in the future. As for now, this is our best guess ! PLEASE NOTE. CATERPILLARS HAVE SPECIFIC CARE REQUIREMENTS, PARTICULARY WITH THE PLANTS THEY EAT. PLEASE READ OUR CARESHEET AND DO YOUR RESEARCH ONLINE BEFORE BUYING. BASIC CARE SHEET FOR CATEPRILLAR. Food - The caterpillars from this species favour citrus plants like lime, orange and lemon. Humidity - A humidity of around 70% should be maintained, which might require a list misting every day. Temperature - Ideal temperature range of around 22-28°C Enclosure - Large enough to allow moulting and movement. A mesh cage or ventilated plastic box is ideal. Substrate - Paper towels or napkins to catch frass (droppings) and make cleaning easier. Perches - Can offer small branches and sticks inside their enclosure so they have more options for pupation.
