Gecarcoidea lalandii is a large species of terrestrial crab. Overall the crab is purple in colour, with white spots. Like most crabs, It is nocturnal, so spends most of the day hiding in burrows. This species is widespread, being found across the Indo-Pacific, from Africa to the philippines.
