Acanthoscurria geniculata, or the Brazilian White-knee tarantula is a particularly stunning species due to its colouration and its size. This is known to be a fairly nervous species and will not hesitate to flick its urticating setae (hairs) which are particularly effective against mammals. For this reason they are not recommended as a beginner species.
