Brachypelma auratum
Brachypelma auratum

The Brachypelma auratum, or the Mexican Flame-knee, is one of the most striking members of the brachypelma genus due to its deep red colouration on its knees. This is a tarantula that has been observed cohabiting with the Eleutherodactylus occidentalis species of frog, it is thought that the frog benefits the tarantula by eating small invertebrates that may predate the tarantulas egg sack.
